Another Picnic Lunch

Here I am enjoying a sandwich on a picnic lunch at a North Carolina rest area just before the Tennessee border. We were on the way to the Longest Yard Sale, 654 miles of yard sales. I know the food is not very exciting but I wanted to show what my hair really looks like, you know the day after getting it cut and you can't figure out or even come close to how your stylist made your hair look.

A pair of cheap sunglasses is now my new hair accessory.

Lunch in Central Park

Finally, after a few trips to New York, I got to spend an afternoon in Central Park. Memorial Day weekend Rick and I drove up to NY to visit with friends and spend the weekend being tourists and enjoy the great city. We had the wonderful opportunity to spend a afternoon with my friend Mindi. We enjoyed a great picnic lunch, and as you can tell from the photo we were big spenders, only the best hot dogs and cold coke that $8.00 dollars could buy.

I need to work on my product placement skills, Rick’s placement is much better.

Here are some of the photos we took of the park.

Taking a rest on the steps of The Metropolitan Museum of Art with my friend Mindi.

And who doesn't love a photo of a cute squirrel.

A Penny for Fifty Cents

I can't help myself, when I travel I have to spend the .50¢ and squish a penny. On recent weekend outing, Rick and I went to the North Carolina Museum of History to see the Knights of the Black Flag Pirate exhibit, which was great, but before going in the exhibit I spotted the penny squishing machine and just as luck would have it I had 51 cents.

Here I am trying to decided which design I want with penny in hand, ready to get squished.

I decided on the NC Museum of History design.

Isn't is beautiful.

On our trip to Grandfather Mountain, not only did they have a penny squishing machine but also a squished penny collector album which I immediately purchased.

and here is my collections of squished pennies. Worth every cent.

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow

Well I did it, after months of talk and a couple of years of growth, I cut my hair. 10" are gone and on its way to Locks of Love and thanks to my wonderful hairstylist, Debbie, I am now sporting a new doo.

Debbie is determining the best way to cut my hair.

Getting ready

Measure twice, cut once.

Oops

There it is, just laying on the table.

This is what is look like right after the last cut,

and this is what I look like while Debbie is styling my hair.
(I am trying to pay close attention so I can style it in the morning.)

Ta-da!
No tears were shed in the cutting of my hair, but I did realize I need a color treatment.
