Cherry Tomato?

How about mini cherry tomato. I might have don't something wrong in growing it, maybe too small of a container.

New Feeders

One should not be allowed to go to Lowes when that one has a passion for feeding the birds, a.k.a. the Squirrels. I purchased this new metal four armed holder hoping that it would be tall enough for only the birds. Not only is it just right for the birds...

but for the squirrels too. It did not take long for the squirrels to leap right up there and enjoy the new feeders and the nice new bird seed.

The birds did get the chance to enjoy in the new food and feeders too.

and since I was already there (wink, wink), I got these pretty flowers to replace the ones that had somehow died.

Scrapbooking here I come.

My friend Melanie recently shared one of her scrapbooks with me. Her scrapbook was so sweet and showcased her memoires so beautifully that it inspired me to start scrapbooking. With Melanie’s help, we went to AC Moore to educated me on the materials I would need to get started; instantly I was hooked. Since our trip to AC Moore I have made a trip to Michael’s and Big Lots to check out and buy some of their supply and as you can see I now have just enough stuff to by dangerous. Now if only I would scrapbook a page.

Lesson for the day...

Always, always check the seat on the picnic table outside McDonald’s before sitting down to eat your lunch. They may have just hosed down the tables to clean them leaving a nice clear puddle of water on the seat. Which by the way shows up nicely on a dark pair of jeans.... Great.

Caged bird?

This spring I became addicted to feeding the birds, buying feeders and looking for that great sale on birdseed, and of course a squirrel proof feeder. This one made a claim that it was...

I now have a caged squirrel who lets himself out once his belly is full.

I am still looking for that squirrel proof feeder.

Then he invites friends over for a run around the cage...

...then tries to invite them in, but the cage is only a one squirrel cage.

A Gardener, I am not.

This is what happens to tomato and pepper plants when left in 95+ degree weather and with no water. On the third day I did water. I am hoping they will make it.

I was lucky to get two tomatoes and a handful of jalapeño peppers. Now I need to think of something I can cook that will use them. Any suggestions? (Keep it on the easy side, a cook I am not)

Gardening by container…

I wanted to share my little garden…in containers. I purchased my first tomato plant at Wal-Mart. The packaging said it was good for patios, so I got it. Then a few weeks later I found a cherry tomato plant that was good for containers, so I got that one too. Then I also brought one green pepper plant and one jalapeño plant. I am excited that all four plants are alive and producing fruit and vegetables. And for those of you who know me, I tend to kill any plant that I have. This year I have done well, so for only one casualty.

This one is called “Better Bush Hybrid Tomato” by Bonnie Plants

Here are my baby tomatoes, they look much bigger here than in actual life.

I should have many cherry tomatoes from this one.

This is the jalapeño plant also by Bonnie Plants.

And here is the casualty; it was a pretty purple violet plant.
