Birthday Bash

The other weekend we all gathered at Linda's house to celebrate my step-father Ernie's birthday. We enjoyed a great hot-dog and hamburger cookout with all the trimmings.

We got out the candles...

We sang the ole' birthday song...

We ate the best German Chocolate Cake ever!
Sorry Ernie, we didn't leave any leftover cake.

Even Poncho got to join in on the celebration!

Cookie Monster...

Tonight I decided, or should I say was pleaded with to make homemade chocolate chip cookies, the Nestle Toll House kind. So I did and I found that a ice cream scoop makes for a perfect giant cookie....

I was working on placing more cookie dough on the sheet and I took out another batch of cookies and when I turned around, cookies were gone, disappeared right off the cooling rack, just gone. I believe it was the Cookie Monster (a.k.a. Rick).

New Table for My Kitchen

Before...

(the nice blue office chair adds a nice office feel.)

After..

I am getting used to the taller height of the pub table and am looking for chair pads, but so far the table is working very nicely. I was even encouraged to bake cookies. Yes, me baking cookies, and I didn't even burn them (I did have the help of a friend, thanks Linda for the help). Thanks to Rick for putting the table together for me.

Here's a photo for the proof:

Pictured are the flour-free Peanut Butter cookies I made, followed by a batch of Snicker-doodle Cookies (all cookies are gone).
