Remembrance of a Mom

This Mother’s Day came with a sadness and with a joy of remembrance. Some of you know, and for those who do not, my mother passed away this January 15, so today was one of the many firsts for me without my mom. I spent the day remembering many of the things that my mother did for me; the spoiling is my favorite. I spent part of the day looking through many of my favorites photos and I wanted to share them.

I found this photo among my mom’s pictures. Written on the back was that this photo was taken during a picnic at Seward Park, in Seattle, Washington. I was 6 months old. So this was my mom’s first Mother’ Day Picnic.

This is my all-time favorite photo of her, her senior portrait. Wasn’t she beautiful?

I love the giggle on my mom’s face. I was only 10 months old (if only she knew of the trouble I would cause as a teenager she may not have giggled so big). And that’s Daddy holding me.

Mom in the 2nd grade. I love the sweet little dress. I’m not sure what she is doing, maybe she is reciting a Happy Mother’s Day poem.

Here she was in the fourth grade. She would probably be mad if she knew I was showing this one.

This photo was my mom’s all-time favorite. She even had copies made. I am playing the organ at my Grandmother Alyce’s house in Glenham, South Dakota. I have many fond memoires of the trips we made up to my father’s parents farmhouse (even of the outhouse).

This was another favorite of hers; she had it in a frame in her bedroom. I’m not sure of my age here, but wasn’t I sweet.

This is my first visit to your site. I didn't even know it existed. I remember the photo in your mom's room. And I soooo remember that giggle of hers. I miss her a lot. Val's husband, T.C., just lost his mother Sunday night.
